  11. NOTE: This is a special Shareware/Freeware Bundle Edition of UniVBE/Pro
  12.       5.0 that is a cut down version of the full package (see below
  13.       for distribution locations). It does not contain the automated
  14.       installation program, nor does it contain the VESA DPMS Power
  15.       Management screen savers, or the RTF formatted documentation. If you
  16.       wish to register this version of the package, you will need to order
  17.       the full release version on diskette from SciTech Software.

  19.       Also note that by registering the product that this version of
  20.       UniVBE is bundled with, you are NOT registering this copy of UniVBE.
  21.       You must register this program separately. Likewise registering
  22.       UniVBE does NOT mean you are registering the product that this
  23.       came with.

  25. The Universal VESA VBE is a small Terminate and Stay Resident (TSR) program
  26. that extends the video BIOS of SuperVGA video cards to make them compatible
  27. with the Video Electonics Standards Association (VESA) recommended
  28. Video BIOS Extensions (VBE).

  30. By having a video card that has a VESA VBE compatible BIOS, or by installing
  31. this small TSR, programs that support the VESA VBE programming interface will
  32. work correctly for your SuperVGA. This helps to solve a lot of problems with
  33. compatability between different SuperVGA cards on the market. Note that this
  34. program will not take advantage of any of the acceleration features that your
  35. video card may provide.

  37. Printing the documentation
  38. --------------------------

  40. If you have a word processing program such as Microsoft Word for Windows
  41. or WordPerfect, you can load the 'Rich Text Format' version of the UniVBE/Pro
  42. documentation called UNIVBE.RTF into your word processor and print out a
  43. proper typeset manual for UniVBE/Pro. Alternatively you can read the plain
  44. ASCII text version of the documentation (UNIVBE.DOC) online, or print it
  45. to any plain ASCII text printer.

  50. You can probably download the latest shareware version of the package from
  51. your local BBS, or you via the internet using ftp from Simtel20 or garbo (and
  52. their mirrors):
